Friends and Lovers II

Read the first part of this poem Friends and Lovers

Years flew like the wind,
The tree stood rooted,
Thinking, of days,
Now beginning to fade.

The sparrow that sang,
And gave tree company;
Has moved its nest,
And is hardly seen.

The stream that flowed,
Has reached the sea;
Banishing all thoughts-
Of the tree, from her mind

The tree stays rooted,
Lonely and sad;
Reminiscing, days long past,
Bitter sweet as they are.
